Eric and Merilyn’s wedding in Singapore was held at the St. Regis. The bride wore a beautiful traditional red cheongsam for the morning ceremony. What I found interesting was the use of instagram live during the “gatecrash” event. Normally the bride doesn’t get to see what the groom has to do in order to “win” his bride, but with advances in technology, that no longer seems to be a problem. I think it’s great because it allows the bride to get in on the action, and not just hear what’s happening from the room. Their family from the UK flew over and made the wedding extra special as it’s not often the entire family got together.
To make the logistics easier, they organized the rest of the events at the St. Regis – which is an awesome location. The guests’ gifts were from Molton Brown. As the guests entered the room, a video of the couple having their prewedding shoot in Hungary was played. Additionally, there was a 9 piece band present to serenade the couple and guests during the dinner. The bride wore dresses from Berta and Jenny Packham during the two march-ins. During the interval, a short video clip was played for the guests. This clip was specially filmed two weeks before the wedding just for this moment. And after the dinner, guests were treated to an after-party with DJs and music tracks as they danced into the Singapore night.
