This wedding was an awesome road trip. We started out before the crack of dawn and drove 2 hours for breakfast at Innsbruck in Austria before continuing to Schloss Mirabell in Salzburg for the standesamtliche Trauung (civil ceremony).
Then back to Germany to the island of St. Bartholomäe for the church ceremony and finally back to Salzburg for the reception. They hired a tour bus for their family and friends so they could enjoy the landscape without the stress of travelling up and down to the various locations and negotiating with traffic. It can get amazingly crowded on the alpine roads. The couple made their rings themselves, which I thought was a very nice touch.
Looking back, I still feel so blessed they trusted me to cover their wedding. It was definitely an adventure that I’ll never forget.
